Arthur Chadwick

Aerospace Engineering

Overview

Arthur Chadwick is a PhD student in Aerospace Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace Systems at Cornell University. A member of Mason Peck’s Space Systems Design Studio (SSDS), Arthur’s thesis focuses on developing cislunar spacecraft supply logistics architectures called StarLift, funded by the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). He obtained an M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University. As a Master of Engineering Committee Fellow, he researched electrospray propulsion technology in Elaine Petro’s ASTRAlab. Arthur was named AmericanInno’s Top 25 under 25 in 2018 for his work on advancing hyperloop technology.

Arthur obtained a B.S. double major in Mechanical Engineering and Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating in Disruptive Innovation from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2021. As the Founder & President of Hyperloop at VCU, Mr. Chadwick led his team to become one of the top 20 university teams internationally in SpaceX’s 3rd Hyperloop Competition. Hyperloop at VCU became VCU’s Student Organization of the Year in 2018. He worked at Northrop Grumman Space Systems, designing fault management for the NASA Artemis orbiting lunar space station called the Habitation & Logistics Outpost (HALO). Arthur is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in STEM.
